Flynas, recognized globally as a leading budget carrier and the top low-cost airline in the Middle East, inaugurated its inaugural direct service from Jeddah to Djibouti on January 8. This new route marks a significant milestone in its African expansion, aligning with the broader growth strategy and national aviation goals.
The launch event took place at King Abdulaziz International Airport, featuring notable attendees such as Dya-Eddine Bamakhrama, Djibouti’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, alongside officials from flynas and the Jeddah Airports Company. Upon arrival in Djibouti, the flight received a warm reception from Faisal Al-Qabbani, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Djibouti, and Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
Beginning January 8, flynas has scheduled three weekly flights connecting Jeddah and Djibouti. This service enhances travel options for passengers to and from Africa, supporting flynas’ strategic initiative titled “We Connect the World to the Kingdom.” This initiative runs concurrently with the National Civil Aviation Strategy’s goals, which include linking Saudi Arabia to 250 international destinations, increasing annual passenger traffic to 330 million, attracting 150 million tourists by 2030, and supporting the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to ease access to the Two Holy Mosques.
